A truly wonderful company to deal with. We purchased from them 3 years ago and we regard them as our family. They do so much for their customers. I consider one of the luckiest days of my life a late fall day several years ago when I was wandering in the village of Macheri, asking around for homes for sale or for realtors. A local suggested that I drive a bit further, and talk with Isabel and Niki at Kritiko Ethos. They were the very first realtor, and I had worked with several other groups here on Crete, who seemed to immediately grasp what I hoped to find. As a Greek-American living in the USA, with a great love of traditional Cretan architecture, I hoped to find a stone, traditional village home- with great potential. They worked carefully and quickly with me, bringing me to the very home that I had hoped to find, located in another traditional village. It was a complicated place to buy, so the Kritiko Ethos team connected me with the most superb lawyer I have ever worked with, Eirini Antonaki in Rethymnon, and an equally superb builder Kostas of Exarhos Homes. I spent three months investigating estate agents and builders and luckily chose Kritiko Ethos. The help and support (including financial flexibility) they gave me were far beyond what I would have received elsewhere. They have remained good and trusted friends and I would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone wishing to live in Crete.

Kritiko Ethos are the best. In my 60 years and as a former serviceman of the RAF I have never before received such amazingly efficient and FRIENDLY service. It is now over a year since I bought and they are still helping me in various matters; imagine a UK estate agent or indeed any other estate agent providing such help!

When I first approached them they told me that they were in business to help people to find a home (rather than a house) and to become part of their ever increasing family of friends and indeed that has happened. I now feel very much part of their family; knowing that are there for me. And as a single person this has been particularly welcome. I would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone who wants an honest, reliable, extremely friendly and helpful estate agent. They are the BEST and I am more than willing to speak to anyone who requires confirmation.

We bought a house through Kritiko Ethos in the Spring of 2014 having decided to buy the previous September and having met Isabelle then. She quickly understood the type of property that we wanted and was very efficient in keeping us updated with what was available in the area where we were looking. We came out for only three days in February and Isabelle had set up a day of viewings for a range of properties. She had chosen one in particular that she had anticipated that we would fall in love with, and indeed we did. We found Isabelle always friendly and helpful.  She is still helping us with all sorts of minor details and nothing is too much for her. I can't recommend her highly enough.

As has been the case with so many others who have posted their appreciation of the services provided by Kritiko Ethos, we shall be ever grateful for the decision we made in September last year to walk through their door in Kalyves on the day we decided to start looking for a rental home in the area. They were in fact the last in the line of agents that we had visited as we worked our way through the town but we immediately dismissed the others as we quickly discovered that Isabel and Bruce had a real appreciation of our needs. At that stage we were only looking at what we might expect within our budget but they kindly arranged to take us the next day to view some properties that typified what we might want.

During the following winter months when we were back in London, they fed us information on homes that were becoming available and, just prior to our return for two weeks in July this year, they arranged for us to meet up with them the morning...

D’abord, l’accueil : nous avons pu immédiatement visiter les lieux (terrain et maison) tout à notre aise. Ensuite, ils ont été des intermédiaires très compétents et efficaces lors des négociations avec le vendeur. Et, une fois l’affaire conclue, ils nous ont recommandé une avocate parlant français qui a très bien rempli son rôle.

Leur action nous a aussi été très précieuse pour aider l’avocate à effectuer toutes les démarches officielles qui prennent place entre l’accord avec le vendeur et la signature des actes : leurs interventions ont certainement aidé le dossier à se terminer dans un délai raisonnable compte tenu de la période des congés d’été. Et, cerise sur le gâteau, ils nous ont très bien renseignés sur nombre de détails de la vie locale (poste, magasins, moulin à huile, etc.). Et encore maintenant, plusieurs mois après l’achat, nous savons que nous pouvons compter sur eux pour tout renseignement.

Kritiko Ethos – that is, Isabel and Bruce – provided an agency service which we can honestly say hit the top five key measures of a professional Estate Agency.
They know the Apokoronas area well (and beyond) and they know their properties.
They speak fluent English and Greek – very important for us – and other languages.  This is so important when you first arrive in Crete.
They listened to our wants and needs – and directed us to appropriate properties to view ……. no lengthy trailing around to see places not matching our specification.
Their communication is excellent – kept us informed, checked we were ok along the journey, and stayed in touch after we found a property.
They were extremely supportive and helpful to us – assisting us in understanding what we must do to live in Crete …….. where to register for residents permits, health care etc.   They went out of their way on numerous occasions to help us.
