We would like to add here that in viewing the photos, it may seem that there is a problem with the exterior finish and this needs some explanation. The owner decided early on during the construction to ensure that the home blended in to the traditional local architecture and hence the external plastering was specifically done to resemble the old Greek churches. The plaster was formulated using river sand from Santorini and over-watered to give a crazed effect. Eggs and yogurt were added to the plaster mix to encourage algae bloom which gives the home a very traditional appearance. This is noticeable in some of the photos and it is not an imperfection but rather exactly what the owner had intended!

Villa Interior: The ground floor includes the main entrance, a guest WC, a spacious sitting room with a fireplace leading to the formal dining room and kitchen. The sitting room has direct access to the huge pergola-covered outdoor lounge with fantastic and overlooks the pool terrace and garden area. The dining area (with another fireplace) seats 14, and also has direct access to the pergola covered outdoor lounge.

All rooms have air conditioning units, and ceiling fans have been installed in many of the rooms as well as the outdoor lounge.

Pool Terrace and External Features: The entrance driveway to the villa leads to the parking area with ample covered and guest parking. Stone steps lead to to the entry terrace. The huge lower level is also accessed directly from the parking area. At present one area has been set up as a fully equipped woodwork shop with storeroom and a WC with a large stainless steel sink. The second and separate basement is accessed by staircase from the dining area and is ideal for a games room or home cinema and has full bathroom facilities.

There are delightful walks around the area through olive groves, vineyards, and coastal areas with beautiful rock formations and sea caves where you can collect natural rock salt. Kalives with all its fine amenities is just a short drive away and via Kalives there is direct access to the National Road westward to Chania and eastward to Rethymnon.
